The FAW Welsh Cup (Welsh: Cwpan Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Cymru; also known as the Welsh Cup or the FA Wales Cup and currently known as the JD Welsh Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a domestic knock-out football competition contested annually by teams playing in the Welsh football league system.
The competition is now only exclusively competed by clubs playing in the Welsh football league system. Until 1995, Welsh clubs playing in England (Wrexham, Cardiff City, Swansea City, Newport County, Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare Athletic and Colwyn Bay) were invited to take part. On occasion, some English clubs were also invited (for example, Shrewsbury Town, Chester City, Tranmere Rovers, Crewe Alexandra, Hereford United and Bristol City), however they were not able to qualify for European competition if they were to win the tournament. Shrewsbury Town hold the record for the most Welsh Cup titles won by an Englisb side with 6 titles. Wrexham are the competition's most successful team, having won 23 titles.
Since 2022, the winners of the tournament qualify to play in the following season's UEFA Europa Conference League. Winners previously qualified for the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, which was discontinued in 1999, and until 2021, qualified for the UEFA Europa League.
