The Turkey national football team (Turkish: Türkiye Millî Futbol Takımı) is the national association football team which represent Turkey and is controlled by the Turkish Football Federation (Turkish: Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu), the governing body for football in Turkey.
Turkey has made two World Cup appearances and five appearances in the UEFA European Championship. Turkey's major success was finishing in third place at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. They also reached the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2008. In recent years, Turkey is seen as a "dark horse" team among the European teams, whose team consisted of a mix between experienced players and youth talents. However, Turkey performed badly in the UEFA Euro 2020, having lost all of group stage matches and only scored one goal in three matches.
