The Thai League 1, more commonly known simply as the T1, formerly known as the Thai Premier League and currently known as the Toyota Thai League 1 for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of football in Thailand. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Thai League 2. The Thai League is a corporation in which the 16 member clubs act as shareholders. Seasons run from February to October, with teams playing 30 games each with a total of 240 games in the season. It is currently sponsored by Japanese car manufacturer, Toyota. In the Thai League, most of the games are played during Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played on Wednesdays and Fridays.
