Teemu Mikael Tainio (born 27 November 1979) is a Finnish football manager and former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently manager of Veikkausliiga club FC Haka.
Tainio began his career as a youth player at TP-47 before signing a professional contract with FC Haka in 1996. In 1997, Tainio moved to France to sign for Auxerre and would go on to make 150 league appearances. In 2005, he moved to England to sign for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. After 61 league appearances at Spurs, Tainio joined fellow English club Sunderland. He would only spend one season at the Stadium of Light before being sent out on loan to Birmingham City. In 2010, he moved to the Netherlands to sign for Eredivisie giants Ajax. Only a year passed before Tainio was on the move again, this time to the United States and Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls. In 2013, he came back to his native Finland to sign for HJK, where he eventually retired. During his career, Tainio made 64 international appearances for Finland.
In 2018, Tainio became the manager of Veikkausliiga club FC Haka, one of his former clubs.
