Mario Gómez García (born 10 July 1985) is a German footballer who plays as a striker for the German national team and Fiorentina in the Serie A. Mario Gómez joined ACF Fiorentina after spending four seasons with FC Bayern Munich, which he joined after six years playing for VfB Stuttgart. The fee was a record for a player transferred in the Bundesliga at that time, estimated to be €30 to €35 million, but currently this fee is the third highest. Mario Gómez became Bundesliga champion with VFB Stuttgart once in 2007 and with Bayern Munich twice, in 2010 and in 2013, the years in which he also won the DFB-Pokal with Bayern. In 2013, Bayern Munich also won the Champions League, completing the treble. At the age of 21, Mario Gomez was selected as German Footballer of the Year.
