Kevin Edward Doyle (born 18 September 1983) is an Irish former professional footballer who played as a forward for Reading, Wolves and Colorado Rapids, as well as the Republic of Ireland national team.
Early career[]
While he was growing up, Doyle played Gaelic football for both his school and Adamstown GAA.
Club career[]
St Patrick's Athletic[]
Doyle signed his first professional contract in 2001 for St. Patrick's Athletic. He initially played for the club's under 18 side, but within weeks moved into the senior side, making his League of Ireland debut in the September of that year.
Cork City[]
In February 2003 Doyle joined Cork City, linking up with his former St Patrick's Athletic manager Pat Dolan, who had recently taken over at the club. He scored 25 goals in 76 appearances for the club, initially on the right wing and then in his natural position as a striker. He also scored two goals in six appearances for the club in the 2004 UEFA Intertoto Cup, including the winning goal against Dutch side NEC Nijmegen.
