Keira Fae Walsh (born 8 April 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women's Super League club Chelsea and the England women's national team. She is considered both a playmaker and a defensive midfielder. She has previously played for Blackburn Rovers; Manchester City; and Barcelona, and Great Britain at the Olympics. Walsh has numerous titles: she has won the Women's Super League and the Copa de la Reina once each, and the Liga F, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Supercopa de España, and the Champions League all on multiple occasions. With Manchester City she achieved one domestic treble, while at Barcelona she successively achieved a continental treble and continental quadruple. She was part of the England team that won the Euro 2022, and was named player of the match in the final.

Walsh became a first-team regular at Manchester City as a teenager during their 2014 campaign, playing a key role in the team securing the Continental Cup. She became the second player to reach 200 appearances for the club, which she achieved in March 2022. In joining Barcelona later that year, she set a world-record fee for a female footballer.

She represented England for their age-group teams before making her senior debut in 2017. She was part of the team that won the UEFA Women's Euro 2022, and was named Player of the Match in the final.

Personal life[]

Walsh is an advocate for mental health support and breaking the stigma around getting help. She has a West Highland White Terrier called Narla, whom she says helps her switch off. As of 2022, her partner was teammate Lucy Bronze. Walsh maintains good friendships with former youth teammates Abbie McManus and Katie Zelem, and particularly Leah Williamson. Having come up through her international football career with Williamson, the pair receiving call-ups at the same time from under-15 to the senior squad, they became best friends. She has a similar close friendship with Georgia Stanway, having gone through their club careers together until 2022. As of 2024, Walsh is in a relationship with Austrian footballer Laura Feiersinger.
