Jérome Agyenim Boateng (born 3 September 1988) is a German professional footballer who currently stays for Salernitana. He's an defender, who mostly plays as an full back, but he's able to take the right and left back sides as well.
Boateng is an versatile defender, who has got good pace and the needed strenght for his position. After keeping good performances with Tennis Borussia Berlin, high-class-club Hertha Berlin has signed him on 1 July 2002. After playing for Hamburger SV, did he play for English club Manchester City, before moving back to Germany to play for Bayern in 2011 and has since won domestic and European honours with the club, notably the continental treble in the 2012–13 and 2019–20 seasons.
Jörg Daniel, coach of the U-17 German National team firstly let him make his international debut. He grew later during the time more and more up, breaking into the Germany senior team squad, and in 2014 he won the World Cup with the team, playing also an important role there, by reaching the title as the first ever European team in South America. He also represented Germany at the 2010 and 2018 FIFA World Cup, and the UEFA European Championship in 2012 and 2016. He is the younger half-brother of fellow footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng.
