Guus Hiddink is a Dutch former football manager and player. During his playing career, he played in Netherlands and United States.
After coaching co-hosts South Korea to fourth place at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, he became the first person to gain honorary South Korean citizenship, the Gwangju World Cup Stadium (a stadium purpose-built for the World Cup) was renamed the Guus Hiddink Stadium (although both names are used now), earned a private island in Jeju Island and free flights for life on Korea Air and Asiana Airlines.
