Doncaster City Football Club is an English semi-professional football club from the city of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, but currently based in the nearby village of Armthorpe. It currently competes in the Northern Counties East League Division One, the tenth tier of the English football league system, and plays home matches at the Welfare Ground, groundsharing with Armthorpe Welfare.
The club received national attention following a request to participate in the Scottish Cup, attempting to exploit a loophole arguing that Doncaster was a part of Scotland as the Treaty of Durham, which gave the city to Scotland, was never officially withdrawn. They again reached national news in February 2024, after registering former international players Ross McCormack, Charlie Mulgrew and Wes Hoolahan.
