Davide Astori (7 January 1987 – 4 March 2018) was an Italian footballer who played as a defender.
Astori began his youth years with Pontisola, before joining the youth ranks at Milan.
Astori spent the majority of his senior career at Cagliari, after 2 years with Milan where he failed to make a single appearance, and two loan spells with Pizzighettone and Cremonese. Near the end of his career at Cagliari, he spent a year on loan at Roma, where he made 24 appearances, and a further loan with Fiorentina, whom he would then go on to sign for permanently.
Astori made his international debut at under-18 level with Italy U18s, for whom he made 4 appearances. In 2011, he was called up to the Italy national team for the first time, with whom he would go on to make 14 appearances, and score 1 competitive goal.
On 4th March 2018, Astori sadly passed away in the Fiorentina team hotel. He was found dead in his room the morning of their scheduled away game at Udinese from a sudden illness, aged only 31.
