Club career

Valero was born in Madrid, Spain and started his career as a youngster in the ranks of Real Madrid. He didn't make it to the first squad, and on August 2007 signed for Mallorca on a five-year deal.

One year later, after a good individual season, Valero left to join Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. He was loaned back to Mallorca for the 2009-10 season where he scored 5 goals in 33 league matches. The following season he was loaned again, this time at Villarreal.

In July 2011, Villarreal signed Valero on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee. During the 2011-12, despite his good performances, Villarreal was relegated which made Valero to leave.

On 1 August 2012, he completed a transfer to Serie A side Fiorentina. He become one of the most important players there, collecting more than 200 official matches in 5 seasons.

On 10 July 2017, Valero left Fiorentina and signed with fellow Italian team Internazionale.
