Andries Jonker (born 22 September 1962) is a Dutch football manager who is the head of Arsenal F.C.'s Academy.
Jonker was at the helm of Holland outfits Willem II, MVV and Volendam and was also the assistant manager of VfL Wolfsburg, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well.
Managerial career[]
FC Volendam[]
The post of Volendam's manager was taken by Jonker from July 1999 up to late June of the following year.
MVV Maastricht[]
On 1 July 2003, Jonker was appointed as the head of MVV Maastricht, a position which he held for close to three years in all, and under which the Sterrendragers got to the quarterfinals of the KNVB Cup.
Willem II[]
Jonker was at helm of Willem II from 5 November 2007 to 17 February 2009 for the Tricolores.
Bayern Munich[]
He came to Bayern Munich as assistant to Louis van Gaal in July 2009, and took over as head coach on an interim basis from in April 2011 until the end of the 2010–11 season. Jonker started as Bayern Munich II manager on 9 June 2011. Jonker left the club when his contract expired on 30 June 2012.
Arsenal[]
Jonker was announced as the new academy manager at Arsenal ahead of the 2014–15 season, where he replaced Liam Brady.
