The 2025 Premier League Summer Series was the second edition of the Premier League Summer Series, a friendly pre-season tournament organised by the Premier League in the United States.
Manchester United were crowned champions of the tournament with two wins and one draw in three matches.
Format[]
The 4 invited Premier League teams (Bournemouth, Everton, Manchester United and West Ham United) each played three matches, never facing the same opposition more than once. Teams were awarded three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. Following the conclusion of the tournament, the club with the most points was named the winner of the Premier League Summer Series. If multiple teams were tied on points, their position in the table was to be determined based on superior goal difference, then number of goals scored, and then results of head-to-head matches.

Club history[]
AFC Bournemouth[]
Founded in 1899, AFC Bournemouth has risen from English football’s lower leagues to establish itself as a competitive force in the Premier League. Known as "The Cherries," the club's ascent began in 2009, achieving three promotions in six seasons and culminating in their Premier League debut in 2015. Currently sitting in the top half of the table, The Cherries are having another great season after beating the club’s record points total in the 2023/24 season.
Everton[]
One of only three clubs to have been a founder member of both the Football League and Premier League, Everton has spent more seasons in England’s top division than any other club and been crowned league champions on nine occasions. Founded in 1878 as St Domingo, the Club has also lifted the FA (Football Association) Cup five times and, in 1985, added the European Cup Winners’ Cup to its prestigious haul. Throughout its history, Everton has been known as a family-oriented club based on proud traditions, affectionately referred to as ‘The People’s Club’. The first club to construct a purpose-built football stadium, its home, Goodison Park, is one of the most revered stadiums in England. From summer 2025, Everton will be looking to maintain those traditions in a new 52,888-capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, ensuring the Club’s roots remain in north Liverpool for generations to come.
Manchester United[]
Manchester United is one of the most popular and successful sports teams in the world, playing one of the most popular spectator sports on Earth. Through our 146-year heritage we have won 69 major trophies, enabling us to develop the world’s leading sports brand and a global community of 1.1 billion fans and followers.
West Ham United[]
West Ham United is an historic English Premier League football club based on the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Newham, east London. Founded in 1895 by members of the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company, the Club was initially named Thames Ironworks FC, before being was reformed as West Ham United in 1900. Nicknamed the ‘Hammers’ and ‘Irons’ in honour of those origins, West Ham United moved into its 62,500-capacity London Stadium home in summer 2016. On the pitch, West Ham United have lifted the FA Cup three times and won both the European Cup Winners’ Cup and, in 2023, the UEFA Europa Conference League. The Club’s name has become synonymous throughout the world for the ‘West Ham Way’ – an approach to football and life that combines entertainment, resilience and a respect for tradition. West Ham United is also famous for its prestigious ‘Academy of Football’, which has produced no fewer than three members of England’s 1966 FIFA World Cup-winning squad – captain Bobby Moore and goalscorers Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters – and England’s first Black captain – Paul Ince – and dozens of other senior internationals.

West Ham United vs Everton[]
West Ham United bounced back from their defeat to Manchester United in their opening match of the Premier League Summer Series by coming from behind to beat Everton 2-1 in Chicago, Illinois.
Everton took the lead in the 17th minute after winning the ball on the halfway line, with Jack Harrison running at the defence and then freeing captain Idrissa Gana Gueye, who fired underneath Wes Foderingham.
But Everton’s new goalkeeper Mark Travers gifted West Ham a 41st-minute equaliser with a howler, attempting a one-handed punch just inside his box which went badly wrong, going behind him and allowing Lucas Paqueta to score.
Niclas Fullkrug completed the turnaround in the 64th minute, advancing down the left side and drilling a crisp low finish into the bottom-right corner from just inside the penalty area.
West Ham have three points from their two matches at the Summer Series, leaving them level with AFC Bournemouth and three points behind Manchester United. Everton have lost both of their matches at the tournament.

Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth[]
Manchester United made it two wins from two matches at the Premier League Summer Series with an emphatic 4-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth at Soldier Field in Chicago.
With new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo both absent from the squad, Patrick Dorgu stole the show in the opening half-hour from his position on the left side of Man Utd’s four-man midfield in a 3-4-2-1 formation.
First he delivered the cross for Rasmus Hojlund’s eighth-minute headed opener, and then he ran on to Mason Mount’s chipped pass in behind to score himself in the 25th minute.
Amad pounced on a loose ball in the box to make it 3-0 in the 53rd minute, and 19-year-old Ethan Williams got a dream goal in the 72nd minute just moments after coming off the bench.
Bournemouth grabbed a late consolation goal as a sliding Matthijs de Ligt diverted David Brooks’s low cross into his own net.
Man Utd are top of the table in the Summer Series with six points, three points ahead of Bournemouth and West Ham United. They would secure the trophy with a draw against Everton in Atlanta on Sunday.

Niclas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen scored in either half at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to give the Hammers a second successive victory in the tournament after their midweek success against Everton.
Despite a strong start from Bournemouth, it was West Ham who went ahead on 24 minutes when Bowen set up Fullkrug to finish.
