Coventry City struck either side of half-time to register an impressive win at play-off-chasing Blackburn Rovers, whose poor Championship form continued.

Sunderland hung on to beat Championship strugglers Derby County to move up to third in the table, despite bizarrely having a Wilson Isidor goal disallowed in the second half.

Hull City remain deep in relegation trouble after losing at home to in-form Queens Park Rangers in the Championship.

Tony Mowbray lost on his return to football management with West Bromwich Albion as his Baggies side were well beaten by his boyhood heroes Middlesbrough.

Oxford United fought back to beat struggling Luton Town and stretch their unbeaten run in the Championship to seven games.

Sheffield United returned to the top of the Championship as they came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over 10-man Swansea City.

Milutin Osmajic's double earned Preston only their second away win of the season and denied Watford the chance to move into the Championship play-off places.

Substitute Yousef Salech scored his first Cardiff City goal as the Bluebirds fought back from 2-0 down to earn a last-gasp point at The Den.

Leeds United eased past a toothless Norwich City at Elland Road to go back to the top of the Championship.

Portsmouth beat relegation rivals Stoke City to lift themselves out of the Championship's bottom three in impressive fashion at Fratton Park.

Ross McCrorie snatched a late equaliser as Bristol City ruined Sheffield Wednesday's hopes of claiming victory at Hillsborough.

Burnley moved up to third in the Championship as they demolished bottom-of-the-table Plymouth Argyle 5-0 at Home Park.
