The 2024–25 Bundesliga is the 62nd season of the Bundesliga, Germany's premier football competition. It began on 23 August 2024 and will conclude on 17 May 2025.
Bayer Leverkusen are the defending champions.
Season overview[]
The season is scheduled to begin on 23 August 2024 and go into the winter break after the 15th matchday on 22 December. With the 16th matchday, the season will continue on 10 January 2025. The final 34th matchday is scheduled for 17 May 2025.
The regular season is played as a round-robin tournament. Each team will play a total of 34 matches, half at home and half away.
Teams[]
A total of 18 teams will participate in the 2024–25 edition of the Bundesliga, 16 of which competed in the league campaign during the previous season, while the remaining two were promoted from the 2. Bundesliga.

Holstein Kiel will make its debut, making it the 58th Bundesliga club and the first club from Schleswig-Holstein. The club will also replace Hansa Rostock as the northernmost club in league history.
FC St. Pauli returned to the Bundesliga after a thirteen-year absence. For the first time ever, FC St. Pauli is playing in a season at a higher level than local rivals Hamburger SV.
