The 2023–24 season was the 139th season in the history of Millwall Football Club , their seventh consecutive season in the Championship , 97th consecutive season in the Football League , and 47th in the second tier. The club also played in the FA Cup , and the EFL Cup . In preseason, Millwall announced the death of owner and chairman John Berylson, who passed away in an accident on 4 July. He was succeeded as chairman by his son; James Berylson.
