Shrewsbury Town's tough start to the season got even worse as they were defeated 2–0 away at Morecambe at the Globe Arena, the host's first ever League One win. Steve Cotterill's side found themselves bottom after match day 2 and the only team without a point or a goal.
Bolton Wanderers followed up their 3–3 draw with Milton Keynes Dons last week with another 3–3 draw, this time against AFC Wimbledon at Plough Lane.
Wycombe Wanderers found themselves top of the league after match day 2 after a 1–3 win away at Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road.
The previous week's league leaders Rotherham United dropped to 10th after a 1–0 defeat away at Wigan Athletic.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Burton Albion maintained their 100% record with a 2–1 win at home to Ipswich Town.
Sheffield Wednesday recorded their first win back in League One with a 2–0 win at home to Doncaster Rovers in a South Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough Stadium.
Sunderland also kept their 100% record with a 1–2 win away at Milton Keynes Dons at Stadium mk.
A 95th minute winner from Will Keane won all three points for Wigan Athletic in a 1–0 win at home to Rotherham United.
