Nicolas Pépé scored twice in the second half as Arsenal beat Brighton, only to be denied a place in Europe by Tottenham's fightback against Leicester.

Chelsea pipped Leicester to a spot in next season's Champions League despite losing to Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce says he hopes some of his team's critics "will eat humble pie and give them some credit" after victory against relegated Fulham saw the Magpies end the season in 12th place.

Leeds United ended their first season back in the Premier League with a fourth successive victory as they comfortably beat relegated West Brom in front of the returning fans at Elland Road.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers says he has "nothing but pride" for his players despite seeing their hopes of Champions League qualification dashed by a dramatic final-day defeat by Tottenham.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp said salvaging Champions League qualification from a chaotic season was the "best feeling I could have dreamed of" after victory over Crystal Palace clinched third place.

Manchester City striker Sergio Agüero marked his final appearance at Etihad Stadium with two goals as the new Premier League champions ended their domestic campaign with a thumping win over Everton.

David McGoldrick struck a fine winner as relegated Sheffield United avoided a host of unwanted records by beating Burnley to end their two-year Premier League stay with victory.

West Ham clinched sixth place in the Premier League - and a spot in next season's Europa League group stage - after comfortably beating Southampton in front of 10,000 supporters at London Stadium.

Wolves were unable to give manager Nuno Espírito Santo the winning send-off they craved as they ended the Premier League season with defeat by Manchester United.

Rules for classification: 1st points; 2nd goal difference; 3rd number of goals scored.
(C) = Champion; (R) = Relegated; (P) = Promoted; (O) = Play-off winner; (A) = Advances to a further round; (Q) = Qualified to the phase of tournament

a. The fourth-placed team will play in the Europa League group stage instead of the Champions League group stage if Chelsea wins the 2020–21 UEFA Champions League, Arsenal or Manchester United win the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League, and both winners finish in fifth place or lower.
b. Since both 2020–21 FA Cup finalists (Leicester City and Chelsea) would currently qualify for European competition based on league position, the Europa League group stage berth awarded to the FA Cup winners would pass to the sixth-placed team.
c. Since 2020–21 EFL Cup winners Manchester City have qualified for European competition based on league position, the Europa Conference League berth awarded to the EFL Cup winners will transfer to the highest-placed Premier League team who have not already qualified for European competition, which is currently the seventh-placed team.
