The 2020–21 season was Shrewsbury Town's 135th season in existence and their sixth consecutive season in League One, England's third tier. Along with League One, the club also participated in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

The club finished 17th in League One, gaining 54 points, scoring 50 goals and conceding 57. They managed to reach the first round of the EFL Cup, the third round of the FA Cup and the second round of the EFL Trophy.

Manager Sam Ricketts was sacked on 25 November 2020 and was replaced by Steve Cotterill two days later.

Fan-favourite forward Shaun Whalley finished as the top scorer, in the league and overall, with 9 goals.
