The 2016–17 Southampton F.C. season is the club's 18th season in the Premier League and their 40th in the top division of English football. In addition to the Premier League, the club will also compete in the FA Cup, the League Cup and the UEFA Europa League.

Pre-season

Southampton will begin their pre-season preparations with a tour of the Netherlands, facing PEC Zwolle on 23 July, FC Twente on 27 July and FC Groningen on 30 July. After their return to England, the team will host Spanish side Athletic Bilbao on 7 August.

Premier League

Southampton will begin the 2016–17 Premier League season on 13 August 2016 with a home fixture against Watford. The season is scheduled to end on 21 May 2017 at home to Stoke City.
