The 2016–17 season is Hertha BSC's 125th season in existence and their 34th season in the 1.Bundesliga. It's also the club's 3th consecutive season in the 1.Bundesliga. Along with the 1. Bundesliga, the club will also compete in the DFB-Pokal. In season 2015-16, Hertha BSC made the 7th place in the Bundesliga and thereby they qualificated for UEFA Europa League 2016-17, but lost in the qualifications against Brøndby IF. The season covers the period from July 2016 to June 2017. At the end of the season, Hertha BSC made it to the 6th place (one place better than in the season before) and again qualified for UEFA Europa League, but this time they qualified directly to the group stage.
